Juan Martin del Potro, 20 years old from Argentina is the new 2009 U.S. Champ for men’s singles. He won the championship match over the no.1 seeded Roger Federer in a 4 hour 6 minutes match, 3-6, 7-6(5), 4-6, 7-6(4), 6-2. A day before at the semis, del Potro ousted Rafael Nadal earning his first finals at the U.S. open. Juan Martin said that his dreams were to win the U.S. Open and to be like Federer. The teary eyed del Potro fulfilled one of his dreams Monday night. This could have been Federer’s 6th consecutive U.S. Open title and his 16th grand slam overall but it is nice to see a fresh new face accepting the championship trophy, a fat $1.85 million dollar check and a key to a brand new Lexus convertible. I've seen some of Federer's game and he is really a good player. But as what you've said it is nice to see fresh face to win the tournament. I did not follow the U.S. open but I am glad you shared it with us the result. How are you my friend? Hope your doing great. Enjoy your day and your weekend ahead.
I'm telling you, this Juan Martin del Potro will be the next top seeder after Federer and Nadal. He has what it takes plus he's a freakin 6-foot-6 tennis player!
