Eyeglasses From Zenni

I am excited to see the $ 8 Rx eyeglasses from zenni optical. I cannot believe that with the little money I have I was able to buy several pairs of eyeglasses. It is really an achievement if you learn how you can start spending smart. My husband will also be happy about my smart buys and thanks for zenni optical for offering quality, fashionable and affordable prescription eyeglasses to its customers. Zenni will always be my store where I can shop for my favorite high fashion eyeglasses with savings in my pocket.

Summer Vacation in Branson

We are already on the last leg of August but I do not think summer is ready to leave anytime soon. The beautiful sunny weather is still here, as we enjoy summer vacation to the fullest. Still have not been to a summer vacation? Well, it is not too late to treat yourself to a fun summer at Branson Landing, Missouri. There are two beautiful hotels where you can stay at Branson Landing, the Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing or the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel. These two hotels are conveniently located right within the town center giving you easy access to the 49 live entertainment theaters, beautiful antique shops, boutiques and outlet malls in the area. Branson Landing has everything to make your nightlife dazzling. Have dinner or cocktail with your family and friends at various restaurants while enjoying the beautiful scenery of Lake Taneycomo. I am sure the dancing water fountain is another spectacular sight as you walk along the lake. While in Branson, it is also your cha…

Cash For Clunkers End

The Cash for Clunkers Program has ended last night at 8pm. During this program, car dealerships were given the chance to sell more than three times as many new cars as they normally sell. Hundreds of thousands of old cars have been traded in to more efficient and better mileage ones. The government has set aside $3B for the rebates but it ran out so quickly thus making it stop the program two weeks earlier than expected. The submission of records for the rebate has been extended until Tuesday noon brought by some technical problems with the government’s computer filing system.

Nissan Leaf

Few days ago I wrote about GM’s Volt, an electric car that can go up to 230 mpg. Now it’ is Nissan’s turn to unveil their own electric car called Nissan Leaf. Nissan said that the Leaf beats the Volt by 137 mpg. According to Nissan, the Leaf electric car gets up to 367 mpg or 60% more fuel efficient.
Nissan Leaf is a zero-emissions electric car and 100% electric. It burns no gas and produces zero emissions. It is a 5-door family car, that can seat p to 5 passengers and can speed up to 90 mph. Nissan Leaf is powered by a fully rechargeable lithium ion battery where a single charge can run up to 100 miles. As for pricing, Leaf is cheaper than the GM Volt’s estimated price of $40,000 while Nissan Lean will be priced between $25,000-$33,000. The Leaf is not available in the market yet but soon an online pre-order system will be available at nissan's website.

The Teacher Vs. The Student

Since I have experienced watching a live car racing show, I learned how to appreciate and see the beauty of cars being suped up for racing. I have also joined my husband in watching car racing on TV and in YouTube.

I would like to share with one video that I found similar to the one we went recently. This is a face off between a teacher and a student. I am talking about Bill “Rosey” Rosenblum, a teacher with a driving experience of 20 years and his student Derek Murrell with no driving experience at all. They race was held at Maryland International Raceway with Derek on the left lane (blue car) and Bill on the right lane (red car). When the teacher got introduced, he was not aware that he will be racing with his student Derek. There were around 20,000 people witnessing this face off; the day that the teacher lost to his student. Bob Glidden, a 10 time NHRA PRO stock champion was at the event hosted by Rich Christensen of Pinks All Out. By winning this event, Derek Murrell went home a 2…

Cash For Clunkers

This is a new program by the federal government where american drivers are givne the chance to purchase newer and more efficient cars. You can trade in your old inefficient cars for a new one that has a better gas mileage and emit less pollution and the government is going to pay the consumers to make the switch. How much? You get paid up to $4,500 depending on what car you are trading in and the car you are buying. If the new car will get 4 to 9 mpg more than your old car, the uncle sam will pay you $3,500 but if your new car will get at least 10 mpg that the old one, you will get $4,500. The money you will get is applied to the price of your new car meaning the car dealer discounts the government rebate from the price of the car you are buying. The car dealer will in turn be refunded by the government. So if you are thinking of buying a new car, take a look at the cash for clunkers program first if you are qualified to get this huge savings.

When I was a kid, there are not many games available for kids. It was during the time of Atari and game and watch. Go figure how long ago that was! These days, there are thousands of games available for all ages that can be played on different game systems, on the computer or online. As a parent, it is difficult to keep track and check the games that your kids play. Now that I have a five year old, who knows how to go online and play games, I always check X-Play first before I allow her to play a particular game. On X-play, you are able to get inside track on world premiere demos, exclusive behind the scenes footage and must have cheats of games that are available in the market. The latest game reviews are also very helpful to read to have more knowledge and information on any game. Right in our house, we regularly play tennis master series 2003 for Xbox. We are a family that loves to play tennis so through this game we are able to play virtually against the world’s best players using…

GM's Electric Car Called Volt

Yesterday marked a special day for GM (General Motors) where they announced to the public their first electric car called Chevrolet Volt that could get up to 230 mpg in city driving. It is the first American car to achieve the triple digit fuel economy figure compared to Toyota’s Prius that gets 51 mpg in the city and 48 mpg on the highway. The volt is powered by an electric motor and a battery pack with a 40 mile range then a small internal combustion engine will kick in to generate electricity for 300 miles of driving. Volt’s battery pack can be recharged from any home outlet at a very minimal cost (about $.40 cents a day or .05 cents per kilowatt hour as per GM CEO Fritz Henderson). The price you have to pay for Volt’s efficiency is around $40,000 compared to Toyota’s Prius which starts from $22,000. Volt was first seen at the 2007 Detroit Auto Show and will be at the showrooms by late 2010. news

Yamaha NeoHD One Remote For All

I took a picture of the four remotes of our entertainment system at home. Each remote has its own specific function but sometimes it gets complicated to me because I still get confused as to how they work. The first one is for the stereo/cd/dvd/, second is for the TV, third one is for the game system and the last one is for the cable company. I do not need all these remotes, I just want one simple remote for everything.

I got a solution to my problem courtesy of Yamaha neoHD, a simplified remote replacing the four remotes we have now. It is a one remote, one on-screen interface with complete control. It is an easy to use remote that controls the entire entertainment system. Do you want to own Yamaha’s technological wonder? There are two ways for you to enter Yamaha neoHD Sweepstakes . You can enter by tweeting “I just entered to win a #neoHD b/c I have too many remotes, visit ( to enter” or via Please do not forget to leave your comments on why you desperat…

The Stouffers Panini Contest

I am sure most of us are familiar with Stouffers Panini. When we go to the supermarket, we always see those red boxes at the frozen dinner section. We are buyers of Stouffers Panini like the grilled chicken Italian, Phily style cheese steak and the smoked turkey club. When no dinner is cooked, Stouffers Panini is always our savior. Other than being yummy, they are healthy food too.

There is good news for Stouffers-panini lovers. They are launching four newer varieties: Bistro Meatballs & Peppers, Bistro Chicken Souvlaki, Lean Cuisine Grilled Vegetables & Goat Cheese and Lean Cuisine Mango Chicken Tikka. And, to promote these four new flavors, Stouffers Panini is having a contest where you can win any of the following prizes:
1. one of the three grand prizes – a choice of a trip to India, Greece, Italy and France ( $10,000 gift card), or
2. 1 of 12 secondary prizes of sony digital camcorders (value of $500), or

Volkswagen Waterfest

As a VW owner, we got this email regarding VW Waterfest, a showcase of german engineering featuring both Audi and Volkswagen cars. This is a yearly event as we have known during the show. It was held in Raceway Park, Englishtown New Jersey. It is a very quiet town not expecting you can see a raceway park in the area. We saw all kinds of old and new Audi and VW cars, from the simplest ones to the suped up ones. You can see different booths of cars, parts and accessories. The main event of the show is the racing of cars (quarter mile) held at the raceway park. It was a fun day getting to know how powerful at the gti's. golfs, rabbit, beetle, a3, passat, jettas and other audi cars.
